Techie Thursday is a weekly opportunity for Smithville Elementary students to explore technology in fun, collaborative learning environment.  Fifteen students from each grade sign up electronically to spend their lunch period in the school library.  After picking up their lunches in the school cafeteria, participants make their way to the library where they eat, learn, and play.

 

Each week, Techie Thursday participants are presented with a different challenge to complete using an iPad app or website.  When students complete their challenge, they earn a Techie Badge, and their names and work are displayed on our Badges page.

 

Techie Thursday is designed to allow students time to explore technology in a playful, non-threatening way while learning from and contributing to the understanding of their peers.
